Design and Screen

Don’t let the Toshiba L350-21Q’s cold, bulky exterior fool you as it does not tell the whole story. We started exploring the Toshiba L350-21Q’s design somehow skeptic to how its design reflects its performance. The dark grey Toshiba L350-21Q is free from any colour not even the standard blue LED trackpad outline. This of course contributes to the general bulky exterior that is also evident in its weight. The Toshiba L350-21Q is not a laptop to carry around at an estimated load of 3 kg. The laptop’s hinges are rigid, and will take some time to ease up and open smoothly.

The Toshiba L350-21Q’s screen is bright and sharply contrasted. We found the resolution to be a bit low for a 17-inch screen. The glossy coating of the screen causes reflections both in direct sunlight and indoors when watching a video. However, we weren’t too troubled by this fact, as most laptops in this price range suffer from the same problem.

Keyboard and Trackpad

The large frame of the Toshiba L350-21Q’s is a great advantage in terms of keyboard. The keyboard is accommodating with large keys and comfortable wrist rest room. The keys are generously spaced out and the numerical keypad comes quite handy for users. We loved the keyboard for its design and durable build. The keys are relatively quiet, so you can type away without worrying about all the noise.

Performance and Battery Life

The Toshiba L350-21Q’s bulky frame is supported by an Intel Celeron Processor with extended RAM. It delivers steady, powerful performance without overheating or crashing even with multiple applications running in the background. One thing we simply adored about the Toshiba L350-21Q’s processor is its quietness, you rarely hear any noise even when loading a game or running a disk scan.

The Toshiba L350-21Q’s does not have a dedicated graphics card. This came as a disappointment, as many users would love to use this reliable laptop for gaming. In the multimedia department, we can say that the audio is average. The two speakers below the screen are suitable for casual YouTube viewing but nothing more.

In the connectivity department, the Toshiba L350-21Q is well-versed with Wi-Fi, USB, and Bluetooth. The built-in webcam works great for video conferencing as it does not lag. We loved using the webcam for capturing random photos as they are of good quality similar to the quality you’d get out of a 3 megapixel camera phone.

Battery life is not an issue with the Toshiba L350-21Q. Even with the presence of its monster-size screen, the battery continues to pump power for hours nonstop. We loved working outdoors on several tasks without worrying about plugging in the laptop.

The lack of a dedicated graphics card was a turn off given that such a powerful processor would be ideal for gaming.
